Adults

Our vision is to help adults of all ages love God, love people, and go into the world.

As we study the Bible, we find that Jesus gives three major commands to describe what He wants His followers to look like:

  • Love God as individual and corporate worshippers (Matt. 22:37-38)
  • Love others by connecting and serving (Matt. 22:39)
  • Go into the world through local and global missions (Matt. 28:18-20)

How does that happen for adults at First Mt. Juliet?

1. Love God as individual and corporate worshippers (Matt. 22:37-38)

We encourage every adult to worship God daily through time in the Bible, prayer, praising, and living a life of generosity. We also encourage adults to gather with the church family each Sunday for the reading and preaching from the Bible, public prayer, public praise, and giving to God’s work through our tithes and offerings.

2. Love others by connecting and serving (Matt. 22:39)

We seek to help you connect with others through our Sunday Morning Small Groups. You are able to get to know one another and talk and discuss and share your lives and connect with each other in a way that can only happen in smaller groups.

Another way for you to connect with people is through the various ministries at our church. If you serve in any of our ministries, such as Kids, Students, Mens, Womens, 55+, etc., you can get to know people better and build deeper relationships.

Our Wednesday night discipleship classes, Christian Life University (or CLU for short), are often smaller, more intimate classes where you can build relationships. We offer Christian Life University classes four times a year beginning in the fall and following the school calendar. These classes cover a wide variety of everyday-life topics from a biblical perspective.

But real relationships can’t be limited to a few hours at church. They have to be deeper and richer than that. We are going to give you opportunities to meet one another and start to get to know one another. But then you have to do life together, because all of life does not just happen at the church facilities. We need to open our homes to each other and open our lives to each other. We need to be relaters who intentionally connect with people.

3. Go into the world through local and global missions (Matt. 28:18-20)

First Mt. Juliet has a strong commitment to local and global missions.
